About us
Founded in 2010, Islanders’ mission was to create a range of beautifully designed, unique footwear using high-quality lambskin. Selling the majority of our first ever batch of boots in under 24 hours made for an encouraging debut (even if our office at the time was a storage space with no heating!).
Humble beginnings aside, the success of our constantly evolving range of products meant that we soon upgraded to a much nicer HQ. New colours, new designs and, most importantly, the launch of our Harris Tweed range really put the Islanders brand on the map.
Inspired by traditional Scottish textures, we sourced fine Harris Tweed from one of the few remaining textile mills of its kind in the Hebrides and got to work on the designs. The reception we received was amazing. A few trade shows and numerous long-haul flights later and we’d already picked up a couple of awards (Best Independent Retailer 2018, Best Product Award at the Scottish Trade Show 2016/17). Loved (and stocked!) by the likes of Judy Murray and represented by over 120 stockists around the world – we couldn’t be more proud of how far the brand has come and can’t wait to find out what’s next.
